On august 2, 2010 at 12:45pm I had a sudden outburst of the worst headache ever when sitting at lunch when at work. I felt my ears pop and then the worst headache came suddenly after. I broke out in a cold sweat and laid down on an exam table. The nurses at my employer checked my blood pressure which was high. I worked directly across from a hospital, but was in so much pain, I couldn't take myself there. An ambulance was called and transported me to the ER where a CT was performed. It showed bleeding on the brain. I then underwent an MRI which showed a ruptured aneurysm. A neurosurgeon arrived within 5 minutes and discussed my options. I elected to proceed with the endovascular coiling. Because I just ate lunch, surgery couldn't be performed until 4pm. Surgery was successfully performed and I was in Neuro NICU for 1 week, with me being sensitive to everything. I was released from the hospital on August 11 and went back to work on August 30. I've had to do cerebral angiograms as follow up appointments. I am very lucky to be here today!

My sister age 58 died of a brain aneurysm in July. She was just out walking her dog and came in and collapsed. They did emergency brain surgery in the ER and then a 2nd operation. They put her in a low temp coma and tried to bring her out, she slowly died over 3 days and then 2 days to declare her truly brain dead and harvest her organs. 3 days after her funeral the stress of her death killed my Mother. It has been over 5 months now and I still can't believe she is gone. I don't understand why, I wonder if the fact she had epilepsy since a child had any factor, or that she had gastric bypass surgery several years ago. My sister loved life, the outdoors, and adored her grandchildren. Her life was cut short for no reason and this horrible incident has shaken so many peoples' lives. I'm 10 years younger and my doctor is telling me to get tested, but I don't want to. RIP Sue we all love you.

In 2011 I was having a lot of severe tingling going through my body. Everyone was laughing at me because I told them it felt like I was being shocked. The doctors could not tell me what was going on. Then came the blood shot right eye. Still no one knew what was going on. June 2011 I had a severe headache and I was rushed to the hospital only to be sent back home with pain medicine. Two days later I was rushed back to a different hospital where I was examined and told I had to have emergency surgery because I had two aneurysms and one had burst. I stayed in intensive care for 10 days. I had the other one coiled and stayed in the hospital overnight. I had really great doctors. I can't thank them enough.

My brother died at the age of 24 within a few minutes from a cerebral aneurysm. It happened so fast, there was nothing we could do to save him.

I had a subarachnoid hemorrhage without symptoms until 30 minutes beforehand. I was hit with a baseball bat on my head where two aneurysms were coiled. Another aneurysm has been coiled with a stent as it has a wide neck and a week later I am feeling fit and healthy with no ill effects. Fingers crossed this will last. Bless the amazing surgeons, nurses and care I have been given, they are quite remarkable. I feel lucky.

I had just got done with work, and was making supper. All of the sudden I got the worst headache of my life. After vomiting for several hours, and it not getting better, my husband advised that we were going to the hospital. I got there and they advised I had bleeding in the brain. I was transported to Marshfield Hospital. I had an eight-hour brain surgery, and was placed in CCU. About a day later they noticed that I had also had a stroke. After a month in the hospital, I went home to recoup. It is now two years later, and I am so thankful to be alive.

I was 35, suddenly had severe pain in the front left side of my head, began seeing double, and my head was burning, began vomiting and could not stop. An ambulance came and took me to hospital. They were going to send me home saying I had a migraine. I knew it was not a migraine, and they decided to keep me overnite after I demanded it. A scan was ordered the next morning and the bleeding was found. I was rushed to another hospital and was kept in ICU for 12 days. Then I had seven-hour surgery to clip the seeping vessel. It was the subarachnoid. I went back to work one month later...and have had no effects from it....very lucky to be alive!
