The pain started at the arch, and is now on top of the foot, a sharp throbbing pain. I can't stand on it. I took muscle relaxant, but that didn't help the pain. I then used ice, and finally ibuprofen, sleeping pill. No luck with either. Back to ice at 3:15 am. It started this evening.

Over the counter medication as well as ice has been effective for my arch pain. However, I was told not to take NSAIDs such as Ibuprofen. You do not want to fight the inflammatory response. This is your body's natural response to injury. Inflammation is a CRITICAL part of the healing process.
