Eye Injuries Overview

A variety of eye injuries are possible including the following:

  • Abrasions and foreign bodies (various particles such as dust or sand) in the eye are very common.

  • Chemical burns to the eye may result in loss of vision unless treated promptly.

  • Rupture of the globe of the eye is a medical emergency that requires immediate attention.
