How does Black Currant work?

Black currant seed oil contains a chemical called gamma-linolenic acid (GLA). Some research suggests that GLA might have a beneficial effect on the immune system. Black currant seed oil and leaves might also help decrease swelling.

Are there safety concerns?

Black currant seems to be safe. It is not known what the potential side effects might be.

Do not take black currant if:
  • You are pregnant or breast-feeding.
