Blueberry

How does Blueberry work?

Blueberry, like its relative the cranberry, might help prevent bladder infections by stopping bacteria from attaching to the walls of the bladder. Blueberry fruit is high in fiber which could help normal digestive function. It also contains vitamin C and other antioxidants.

Are there safety concerns?

Blueberry is safe for most people. There is some concern that blueberry might lower blood sugar levels. If you have diabetes, check your blood sugar carefully.

Do not take blueberry in amounts greater than typically consumed as food if:
  • You are pregnant or breast-feeding.
  • You are scheduled for surgery in the next two weeks.
