I have diabetes and the boils are plentiful. I can't find a reasonable way to get rid of them. Related Reading: diabetes

I have been suffering from boils under my arms for the past 10 years, after using my mother's deodorant ONCE. She left it at my house and I thought it smelled better than mine, I later found out that she too suffers from boils under her arms and in the groin area. After so many years of being ashamed to wear sleeveless tops, or getting close to anyone because of the scars and embarrassment, I did a little research and found that turmeric (yes the spice!) helps very well. You can make a paste and apply it directly to the boil and it will bring it to a head and drain it within hours. I was so impressed I started adding it to my tea and sipping on it to help keep the boils away.

I've noticed a significant reduction in boils when I changed my diet over a long period. No more onions, garlic, grains, little ground beef, etc. and when even some random or cross contamination of my food happens with these and other allergens of mine, I break out in large painful, pus-filled boils quite quickly. I take antihistamine pills and they go away, as do my other symptoms such as swollen stomach, acid reflux, diarrhea, arthritis-like pains and swelling, foggy brain, on and on... For the treatment of boils, applying an aloe gel at the first sign of the boil has helped me with pain. After doing this, the boil goes away much faster.

I have found that using just a little tea tree oil on a boil a couple times a day will make it go away. It is a great antiseptic.

I too, am a constant complainer of boils. I am extreme everywhere, I have had liposuction to the underside of my skin to get rid of all the tunnels that lead from one to the other and had big success in that. I also had them cut out the sweat glands under one arm. That just left a scar 4 inches long and almost an inch wide. No sucess there. I currently had some great news and want to share. Look up biological response therapy. Don't bother with anibiotics, ask for anti inflammatories. It's an inflammed hair folicle which most of you know and will keep them down. After all this time and looking up the biological response therapy and the missing parts of the immune system that fights off the boils it all makes sense. Good luck to you all. I got boils for first time, and it is inside in the tip of the nose.It is very painful and I asked the pharmacist for medicine over the counter. He gave me Benzocaine 20% ointment and seems to work for the pain at least a little bit. I can not use any of your advice, due to the the location of my boils.

For those of you suffering from recurring boils on your behind area, please go to a colorectal surgeon and ask about "fistula." A fistula could be the underlying cause of your boil, or "abscess." Even though you treat an abscess (by lancing it), it won't necessary solve the underlying problem if you have one (a fistula). Look it up online, and please ask a surgeon about it. There are various treatments for fistulas to prevent abscesses from recurring. Best of luck!

I too have had several boils for past 10 yrs. They are mostly along my pantyline and under my arm. I have been to a dermatologist and he says could keep them away by staying on a low dose antibiotic forever!!! No thank you! Also could have surgery and cut out the cores! What I have found to be somewhat effective is using a infra-red light bulb. My husband fixed one on a device that I can plug in the wall and I lay on the bed ane point towards my groin and arm area. You must be faithful and do it morning and night for quite awhile. The infra-red bulb actually heats as far down into your skin as 3 inches and will eventually detroy the virus deep down. There are also infra-red saunas that can be purchased or even built where you sit in and get the toxins out of you body. A regular sauna does not get that deep down as does the infra-red. I also feel its the healthier way. I have gotten rid of several like this but unfortunately they can reappear if you don't keep doing the infra-red indefinitely. Hope this might help someone out there as I know what you are going through!! Must Read Articles Related to Boils

If you think you have a medical emergency, call your doctor or 911 immediately.

I have found that by treating the boil when it first appears with white spirit usually gets rid of it almost immediately.
