I broke my collar bone seven weeks ago. I've been back to hospital this morning only to be told it has not healed. I've asked to go back to work as a barmaid. I've been told yes as long as I do light duties.

I broke my collar bone in the mid-shaft and was operated and fixed with Knowles pin and wires. My doctor told me that I could have my wired removed in three months at least and the pin in a year after the operation. The funny thing was another doctor I saw recently told me that I could have the pin taken out along with the wires. When I expressed my concern about the safety of removing both so soon, he suggested the pin removal first.

I fractured my clavicle and I have been wearing this figure 8 stabilizer. I miss my martial arts and this was supposed to be my vacation in Brazil. I cannot swim, ride, bike, nothing. I'm very sad I hope and pray that I will be able to go back to martial arts it is a way of life for me.

I spent about a month in an immobilizer and about a week in a sling.

I broke my collarbone 15 years ago and it was fine until recently fracturing it again. I have no idea what caused it, but have been told to carry on as normal.

Since the break in collar bone did not line up, I needed surgery. That was four weeks ago, and I'm now in the healing process, which means keeping my arm in a sling for at least six weeks total. I am still seeing the surgeon, until he releases me to go back to work.

I have worn my sling for 11 weeks now and there is no sign of any union. It is extremely painful and uncomfortable. It is my right clavicle which makes it difficult as I am right handed. I cannot cycle, swim, run or do yoga all of which I used to do every day.

For my broken collar bone, I have a stretchy bandage and a sling.
