My little brother slammed the car door on my right hand (my writing hand and I am a volleyball player). Several bones in my hand were crushed. I'm having surgery today to repair my hand.

I was cycling along river road and my front tire slipped into what looked like a minor crack in the asphalt only about an inch or two wide but six inches deep. The bike came to an abrupt stop and my momentum carried me over the handle bars and I landed on my hands and face. I had a chipped tooth, busted lip, bruised muscles near sternum, and my 5th metacarpal broken at the wrist. The orthopedist performed outpatient surgery and I have two pins in my hand protruding from the right side to stabilize the bones while it heals. I was on a 30 mile ride but only made it to 13.96 mile before the crash. :(

I slipped down three steps landing on my hand and I have what the doctor called a boxer's fracture. My hand is quite swollen and discolored. It was put in a hard splint and wrapped with an ace bandage, and I have naproxen.
