Hello. My name is Khattab Abbas and I'm from Kurdistan. I had an accident and my left leg bone turned to pieces. The doctors couldn't do anything but put the three big parts together and said that I should get medical care outside the region.

I had a broken middle femur and two parts from an accident. A metal rod was placed and another surgery was done last year.

I sustained a tibia / fibula fracture while roller skating. I had a rod placed through the tibia, secured with screws. This is way more painful than I would have imagined. Recovery is long.

I have a closed fracture of the fibula near the ankle. No surgery required. Gosh did it hurt! Rocks, rattlesnakes and flip flops don't mix!!

I broke my leg when a rock shot out from under the lawn mower.

Hi! Had a motorbyke accident in December 2010, had multiple open fractures, broke my femur, tibia and fibula, nerves are still intact, reduction was done and screws were inserted but bones were not properly aligned which resulted in bones not uniting. Still on plaster and there is no hope to this day.

I sustained a peri-prosthetic (tkr) supracondylar fracture of the distal femur--right above 3 year old knee replacement. Treated with plate and screws. First surgery resulted in surprise non-union at 8 months post-op when plate broke and bone refractured. Second surgery (plate replaced with longer plate and screws, bone stim implant) was also declared non-union at 12 weeks. However there was approx 3 month delay in treatment. Third surgery showed significant bone growth--new shorter plate and old graft cleaned out and new BMP grafting material used. Now am 8 weeks post op 50-75lb WB, no brace. Non-smoker, overweight.
