Currently I have had symptoms for ten days. I am still not well. But the one thing that cured the coughing all through the night leaving me worn out was Tussionex. It was the 3rd or 4th item I tried it and it does help with night coughs.

I have diagnosed as having bronchitis...I originally had a regular type cold (cough, runny nose, no fever) and then it seemed to subside. Then I kept coughing and the cough changed in sound and feel, so I went to the doctor. She prescribed medications. It has only been about six days and I still have the cough. It is not as bad but it is still here...thought it would have stopped by now but it seems that others here can attest to the fact that bronchitis can really linger.

For the past two weeks, I have had this nasty coughing bout with headaches and chest pains from all the coughing. At first, I was diagnosed with pneumonia, but after taking a chest X-ray, it was determined I had bronchitis. My doctor prescribed a 6-day regimen of medications and had a nebulizer inhaler delivered to my home. I have been doing this for the past few days, but I still have the coughs and a bit of a headache.

I have been suffering from bronchitis for the past seven months. I have been given many treatments by doctors, but at least the treatments are effective.

I find that hot showers, Mucinex D, and the albuterol inhaler get me through. In fact, the inhaler is the best thing that I have found. I get more relief from that than from anything else.

Hi today is my 6th day of bronchitis and I finally decided to see my doctor. She prescribed some cough medicine and azithromycin, as she thinks it's a bacterial infection and not viral. I have started to feel better after 6 days of total distress.. :-) Initially I thought I had the flu, but Ii had no other symptoms than coughing and sore throat, so I knew it was not viral.

I currently have bronchitis I usually get this a couple times per year. Each time it seems to get worse. I was prescribed a codeine cough medicine and also azithromycin I also got benzonatate tablets for daytime cough. It seems to be helping so far but I am very dizzy from the meds. I also have a low grade fever. I hope it will disappear soon. Thank God it wasn't H1N1!!

I first suffered bronchitis 10years ago. I delayed seeing a doctor, as I thought it was a bad cold, or something similar. My painful cough became worse, I felt exhausted and some days spent a long time in bed. After about three weeks with worsening symptoms, I did consult my doctor, who prescribed antibiotics. After four courses of this my problem cleared up. I was told that I should not have delayed seeking medical help, and the delay made the inflammation much more difficult to relieve. Since then I suffered on many occasions, sometimes almost without an interval between attacks. I understand that I now have the bacteria in my respiratory tract, and will probably never be clear. My own advice, as a sufferer, is that treatment should be sought without delay, and never try to tough it out, as you may end up with a permanent susceptibility.

The symptoms of bronchitis for me generally get worse before they get better. I was prescribed an antibiotic only because this case of bronchitis occurred as a result of the flu. My symptoms will generally be bearable for the first two days and then unbearable for the next two to three days because my body is beginning to get rid of the phlegm and such. Generally Robitussin and Tylenol cold and flu help me. The orange or blue Tylenol cold is amazing for this because it has something for fever, headache, coughing, and to loosen phlegm. Very hot showers with a towel hanging over your head helps because you breathe in the moisture. Also, a vaporizer helps.

I got cold on 10/5. Three weeks later, I could hear the mucus bubbling up in my bronchi before coughing. I was wheezing, coughing a lot. After taking a chest X-ray (to rule out pneumonia), my doctor prescribed antibiotics. Ten days later I felt better, with only some chest "gurgling" left. Unfortunately, on 11/20 my spouse got sick with cold and I followed. This time I recovered faster, only in two weeks, but I still (it is already 12/30) cough 3-5 times a day and have to clear my throat endlessly, like my bronchi persistently produce small quantities of mucus. It seems, it's going to be months before I begin feeling completely healthy again.
