C. diff Prognosis
- C. difficile colitis or antibiotic-related colitis generally has a favorable
outcome as long as this condition is recognized early and prompt treatment is
- Not all cases of diarrhea while on antibiotics are C. difficile colitis.
- The improper use of antibiotics without a doctor's supervision may increase
the likelihood of C. diff infection.
- Proper hand washing with soap and water by the infected person and those in
contact is paramount in preventing the spread of C. diff infection.
