There is no known way of preventing Crohn's disease.

Outlook

Crohn's disease is a serious disease that may have a big impact on the life of a child or teen. But it is usually not a fatal disease, and with appropriate treatment and support, most children do very well and are able to attend school and participate in sports and daily activities.
