Heat Rash Heat rash (prickly heat) is a red or pink rash caused by plugged sweat glands. Symptoms include welts, hives (urticaria), raised red bumps, or itching. Treatment can include washing the area with mild soap and rinsing. See a doctor if it does not improve. To prevent heat rashes, wear light, absorbent fabric, and stay hydrated.
