What should I avoid while using ferumoxytol (Feraheme)?Follow your doctor's instructions about any restrictions on food, beverages, or activity. Do not take any vitamin or mineral supplements that your doctor has not prescribed or recommended. What other drugs will affect ferumoxytol (Feraheme)?Tell your doctor if you are also taking an oral iron supplement (including ferrous gluconate, ferrous fumarate, or ferrous sulfate). Treatment with ferumoxytol can make it harder for your body to absorb iron supplements taken by mouth. There may be other drugs that can interact with ferumoxytol. Tell your doctor about all medications you use. This includes prescription, over-the-counter, vitamin, and herbal products. Do not start a new medication without telling your doctor.
