Do not take extra medicine to make up the missed dose. If you use Cyklokapron: Call your doctor for instructions if you miss a dose. Hormonal contraception may increase your risk of stroke, blood clot, or heart attack while you are taking tranexamic acid. If you need to use birth control during treatment with tranexamic acid, use a barrier form (such as a condom or diaphragm with spermicide).
