Desired Levels:
HDL 35 mg/dL or higher
Cholesterol 200mg/dL or less
Total Cholesterol 190 mg/dL or less
Triglycerides 190 mg/dL or less
LDL 130 mg/dL or less

Blood lipids are divided into 2 major groups: Good lipids and bad lipids. HDL (high density lipoprotein) is a good lipid and cholesterol, triglycerides, and LDL (low density lipoprotein) are bad lipids.
