I dislocated my little finger badly and straightened it right away, turns out I broke a bone too. Very swollen and bruised strapped up to adjacent finger after X-ray to make sure it was in the right position.

My little finger middle bone was dislocated when i was playing cricket. I noticed it and pressed the middle bone and it came to correct position.at that time there was some pain and there was no swelling. After 5 to 6 hours i noticed that finger is swollen and feeling some pain.

I dislocated my middle finger today simply opening my car door. I could see that the finger was skewed to the right and out of place. I drove to Emergency and the doctor was able to pull on it and snap it back into place.

My 14 year old son tripped over our dog and landed on his hand/fingers. I took him to the ER because his finger was twisted and just dangling. It was obviously dislocated and broken. He had surgery today (2days later) and it was able to be reconnected and untwisted without needing pins! He also broke his growth plate and fractured two other fingers as well. He will be in a cast for at least 3 weeks. The surgery was mainly to manipulate the finger under anesthesia. The doctor said it should continue to grow normally without problems. Immediate medical treatment is very crucial with these injuries!

I went to the hospital, and after X-rays, my finger was put in a splint, which was removed after a week. Then two of my fingers were strapped together. I injured myself three weeks ago.

I underwent surgery for this condition, and ended up with a deformity-Loss of digital motion. I cannot even bend my finger to touch my palm. The K-wire was inserted during surgery and my finger was in a splint, everything seem like it was done correctly, but my doctor did not recommend any post-surgery exercises or physical therapy. I was in the military when this was done, and that's probably why I was not referred for physical therapy afterwards, either out of not knowing or just plain negligence on the doctor's part. I would like to receive additional treatment because of newer technological advancement since the late 70's, but I am afraid to have a corrective surgery, I don't want the situation to get worst or someone inexperienced performing the surgery. Reading through your articles, my surgery just aggregated the condition-the finger should have just realigned and splinted.
