Group B Strep Infection (cont.)
Scientists are trying hard to make a vaccine against group B strep.
There are some promising results, and it is possible that a vaccine will be
developed in the next several years.
Although culture is the recommended test of choice for pregnant women,
results take up to three days to come back. Several more rapid tests have been
developed and are being tested to determine if they could replace culture.
