Auricular tags are extra areas of tissue present on the external structures of the ear. They are very common. The growths may be fairly easy to remove surgically, and the bases can be electrodesiccated. Sometimes the growths may contain cartilage that extends to an unknown depth beneath the surface of the skin. In this case, surgical removal is more difficult.
