Basal cell carcinoma (BCC) is the most common type of skin cancer. This BCC on the ear resembles a melanoma; however, there are features that distinguish it from a melanoma. This BCC has translucent areas as well as patches of spider veins (telangiectasia), which are characteristic of BCC.
