Kefir

How does Kefir work?

Kefir contains actively growing bacteria and yeast. Their effect on milk results in production of enzymes and chemicals that affect the way food is digested.

Are there safety concerns?

Kefir appears to be safe for most people. Kefir can cause intestinal cramping and constipation, especially with initial use.

Do not use if:
  • You are pregnant or breast-feeding.
  • You have any condition that might reduce your immune function.
