I injured my knee during kickboxing and repeated roundhouse kicks to a padded bag. I didn't feel any injury until days later. The pain only occurs after I sit for a period of time and try to stand. I feel pain in the outside back portion of my knee joint. When I stand and walk a few steps, the pain subsides. I'm seeing a chiropractor for therapy. Short of an MRI, he thinks is a bursa issue.

I fell flat after slipping off a curb. It did not hurt but did start to swell after I got home. Used ice, on and off, all night and most of next morning, then went to work. It started to bruise, with the bruising going down.

I suffered an impact knee injury playing soccer four weeks ago. Basically the whole knee joint opened up, then swelled some 30 minutes post-trauma. I went to A & E and medial ligament damage was diagnosed. An X-ray was carried out even though I knew this wouldn't achieve anything. I was told I would be playing again in three to four weeks. Four weeks later, the area is still sore and there is no way I can do any sort of lateral movement. Related Reading: knee injury

I got tackled playing American football. There were a few popping sounds and my knee cap on my left leg ended up on the left side of my leg. I straightened my leg out and my knee cap went back in. Pain was very bad. I got put in a cast for a week and a bit, now I'm in a removable splint.

I am 76 yrs old and about one month ago I had a fall. I came down but at the time I wasn't aware that my knee was involved. It was maybe ten days when I noticed some swelling, not a lot, and soreness developed. It is not getting any better.

I fell off a curb about ten days ago by not watching where I was walking. I saw a doctor and he suggested I wear a non-fitted brace which I have, on and off. The injured leg appears somewhat swollen at this time. I treated the injury with rest and ice for three days after the fall. Since then, I've walked for an hour in a swimming pool three different times hoping to relieve the problem in time for my trip to NY in late May.

I fell and landed on my right knee. There is much pain, some swelling, some warmth. I have difficulty walking. Going up and down stairs causes great pain. I cannot decide if I should have it looked at or not. It happened on Tuesday. It is now Friday at about 3:30 pm. Maybe it will get better on its own. Maybe with the weekend coming up, I should have it checked. I've been alternating ice and heat.

I have a football injury. The pain is on the left knee, and hurts most when I change directions when I walk. The pain hurts for a few seconds and I can't straighten the leg properly. It happened last night and I'm struggling with the normal day so far.

I was carrying the vacuum cleaner downstairs. The lead went under my foot, causing it to slip. I fell sideways. I was unable to move or straighten my leg (because of the width of the stairs) which was feeling painful at the knee. The vacuum cleaner was lying on top of me. The doctor barely looked at it, never touched it. Asked me if it was swollen then told me it was age related.

I fell off my scooter two months ago and was admitted to the hospital. They diagnosed me with ACL and MCL injury. Put me in a knee brace and sent me home. I was seen in an clinic later, had an MRI Scan that showed a ruptured ACL, grade 3 Tear MCL, torn lateral meniscus, dislocation, and femoral condyle fracture, bone edema, and bone bruising. I have been treated conservatively for four months in a hinged knee brace. I had ACL reconstruction, repair of MCL as it failed to heal, and suture of meniscus as this also failed to heal. I was in a brace for two weeks with no physical therapy. Related Reading: edema Must Read Articles Related to Knee Injury

I twisted my knee while in the lift line. I fell back with my skis on and heard a little pop. My MCL is stretched for sure, but I can walk and don't have much pain. My knee feels unstable on the inner side.
