With labyrinthritis, I had dizziness, nausea, ringing in the ears, motion sickness, and lethargy.

It started mid-day, with a ringing in my ear. Later, I was in the middle of instructing a moderate fitness session early evening, when I had the sensation I was going to be sick and I started to vomit. It was like being on a boat in severe weather conditions. I was unable to stand up and I was driven home. Then I started to experience everything in the room spinning round. I kept vomiting and I was unable to get out of bed for five days. It was three entire weeks before all my symptoms had disappeared.

My symptoms were very typical. I had extreme vertigo and vomiting that lasted about three hours. I was admitted to the hospital where several tests were performed, all of which were normal. Unfortunately an ENT was not consulted until after I was released from the hospital. Two years later I have a moderately severe balance problem which is manifested when I stand or walk. I also have a permanent hearing loss which has been diagnosed as "profound" and cannot be resolved in any way with a hearing aid. So, I have pretty much learned to live with this condition.

I started with a severe case of vertigo that included vomiting. I was given cortisone, and antibiotic; I used allergy medications, and nothing helped. This was 1 month ago, saw and ear, nose and throat specialist today, scheduled for an MRI tomorrow, as of right now I have no hearing at all in my left ear and am still off balance in my movements. I am on a very strong dosage of prednisone for the next 2 weeks.

I have had a severe headache on the right side of the head. Labrynthitis has been diagnosed but there is no explanation for the severe headaches.

I have been very dizzy since yesterday, especially when I get up from sitting down. I am going to try these exercises I've heard about. I also take motion sickness pills that help a little.

I was asleep on my side one night when I turned rapidly from side to side. I have used this method of turning in my sleep as long as I can remember only this time something different happened. When I turned I felt my skull turn with my body but my brain felt like it lagged behind my skull and then snapped into place like a rubber band. I have never remembered that happening in the past and it was painful. I went to work that day as usual but later in the afternoon when I had to climb and examine some equipment I became so dizzy that I had to sit down and thought that I may need to call emergency services. After 10 minutes I was well enough to drive to an emergency health care facility where I had a CT scan and all was clear. I was diagnosed with labyrinthitis and given an antibiotic and motion sickness pills. It has been a week and I still feel dizzy and am hoping to feel better soon.

The first time I ever had it, was so bad I called an ambulance. I could not open my eyes; the room was spinning around so fast I couldn't see anything. I had to crawl to the bathroom, vomiting the whole way. I spent the day in the ER on meclazine, copazine and who knows what. After that, I learned my lesson. If I feel a slight spin I start taking benadryl, meclazine and sudafed in the daytime. Never again has it been that bad.

With Labyrinthitis I first experienced a felling like I was getting an ear infection. It felt like fluid building in both of my ears. Then they started to crackle and hurt allot. Then Fluid started leaking out of them. I almost completely lost hearing in both my ears. Allot of dizziness unbalanced and vomiting.

I awoke at 5am to go to the bathroom and fell back onto the bed. Everything was spinning and I felt as if I had been pushed back every time I tried to move my head I had instant nausea and vomited this happened instantly and several times. I found a placement that I could tolerate and that was where I laid for over 18 hours. Trying to get up was a nightmare. I still suffer some dizziness on rare occasions, but it always scares me thinking it is coming back. I truly thought that I might die, it was that uncomfortable.
