It began with a fungus under two fingernails, but now it appears to have only separated from one half of the nail bed.

I had a fungal infection under my toenails and read that some people had used Vicks VapoRub! I asked by doctor and she said she had heard about that as well. She said there was not medical proof, but she had heard of it working for some people and that it couldn't hurt to try it, so I did. I just rubbed it into the infected nails at night and in the morning and it worked! Much cheaper than the medication I would have had to take and I also heard about nasty side effects!

I had severe fungus problems. My fingers had constant peeling skin. The entire bottoms of my feet were covered with dry peeling skin and toe nails had thick ugly yellow nails. I took the Lamisil pills as directed and it all cleared up. That was seven years ago and I still have beautiful feet and hands. I couldn't wear sandals before the treatment. Now I still wear sandals all summer. YAY!!!!

Tablets have been fantastic had toe nail infection for 6 years used loceryl lacquer did not help. Was reluctant to take tablets due to side effects reported from other people but wanted to get rid of infection. Took tablets for two months new nail growth from base of nail, finishing off with lacquer will continue to use to make sure infection does not return. I had no side effects with tablets.

I have used miconazole nitrate, which has been successful in treating nail fungus.

I had my fungal toenails treated by a podiatrist using an Aerolase LightPod Laser. The treatment was quite quick and easy, and I have not had any problems or reinfection of the nails since (treatment was close to 8 months ago). I am happy to say that I can once again strut around in sandals.

I have sprayed under and around the nail with hydrogen peroxide. It has helped somewhat. Part of the nail seems improved, but along the right side of the nail on my right big toe seems to have a buildup of calcium like substance. It is very hard and brittle. My left big toenail seems to be quite normal looking now. I tried several different treatments including oral Lamisil, this was a few years ago. I also soaked my feet in a vinegar solution for 1/2 hr each evening. I don't think that was too successful. I think a topical Lamisil treatment would work, but we can't get it here in Canada, or at least I haven't found it locally. Must Read Articles Related to Onychomycosis

I was working with a medical caravan team in Mexico as an interpreter and the Dr. prescribed seven tablets of fluconazole 150 mg for seven days. She said the nail should return to normal as the nail grew out and was slowly trimmed away.
