My wife's symptoms began as lower back pain which was treated as a muscle pull or pinched nerve. She was treated with muscle relaxers and pain pills. Within six days pain was so intense I took her to the emergency room where CT scan was done and eight cm mass was found on her liver. Next day discovered it was pancreatic cancer so advanced she died within seven days. Related Reading: back pain | CT scan | pancreatic cancer

My husband's first symptom was pain right below the breast bone. He had also been on the Atkin's diet, and while he wasn't faithful to it, the weight just kept peeling off. We realized later it was due to the cancer. Soon he had trouble eating anything without increased pain below breast bone, but turning yellow overnight was the symptom that led to visit to dr. He also started having greasy (floating) bowel movements. When he was diagnosed, it was already stage 4. The cancer already in lymph node and liver. Must Read Articles Related to Pancreatic Cancer

My Aunt suffered from back and stomach pain. Many trips, at times monthly, to ER usually resulted in pain medications only. She was 86 with arthritis. Last visit, the doctor noted he could find nothing but high enzymes. Family member pointed out her yellow jaundice. It was pancreatic cancer. She passed away within 2 weeks.
