Medications

As described above, antiinflammatory medications are frequently used to treat plantar fasciitis. Common nonsteroidal antiinflammatory medications include ibuprofen, naproxen, diclofenac, and many others. Occasionally, oral cortisone medications such as prednisone and prednisolone are given. Injections of cortisone medication, such as kenalog, depomedrol or celestone, can be very helpful.
