I suffered a pulmonary embolism 2 weeks and 4 days after having twin girls by emergency c-section. My treatment was weekly blood tests and 6 months of anti-coagulants (warfarin) until my blood was correct. Related Reading: c-section Must Read Articles Related to Pulmonary Embolism

If you think you have a medical emergency, call your doctor or 911 immediately.

On January 30th, I received Heparin, Lovenox, and Coumadin for a submassive saddle clot in the lungs and a DVT in the right leg. I am on 10 mg Warfarin/Day for 2 months so far. I thought I had an asthma attack that would not resolve. I also had lower back pain. I did have a knee scope in December. I had no visible signs of a PE until I had abnormal EKGs when admitted in the hospital. A CT scan confirmed it.
