I suffered from RLS for over 20 years before it was diagnosed properly. I was given an RX for Sinemet and have been taking one per day for over 12 years. I do not have Parkinson's disease, for which this is prescribed. It works perfectly for my RLS!

Usually when it's active, I try to lift my leg while lying on bed - or both legs- up a bit and hold it for a while until I can't hold it much longer. Sometimes I need to do it twice or three times, but mostly once is enough.

Mirapex is the only thing that works for me. There are side effects, but the RLS was driving me insane.

I have sufferer RLS for many years but it has become unbearable in the past 3 years. Either my husband or I have to go to another bed or I might injure him with my writhing and thrashing. I lose all the covers on the bed and go from very hot to freezing cold.

I have had RLS for 60 years. When I was young, I had to stand in a bath of cold water until it went away, and it went away for weeks or months, but it got out of my control. Now at 76 years old, I at last got some relief. I had to see a specialist and he has put me on ropinirole (Requip) 4mg modified release tabs and ropinirole 1mg.take first tab at 7 pm and second tab at 10 pm. I have had no sleepless nights since or problems throughout the day! I hope this helps someone else with this terrible disease.
