How does Resveratrol work?

Resveratrol might dilate blood vessels and reduce the activity of platelets in blood clotting. Some research suggests that resveratrol has weak estrogen (a female hormone) effects. It may also decrease inflammation.

Are there safety concerns?

There isn't enough information available to know if resveratrol is safe in amounts greater than those typically found in foods.

Do not take resveratrol if:

• You are pregnant or breast-feeding.
• You have breast cancer.
• You have uterine cancer.
• You have ovarian cancer.
• You have endometriosis.
• You have uterine fibroids.
• You are scheduled for surgery in the next two weeks. Resveratrol might increase the risk of bleeding.
