Rue

How does Rue work?

The chemicals in rue help decrease muscle contractions and reduce swelling (inflammation).

Are there safety concerns?

Rue is considered safe when consumed in food amounts. It is UNSAFE when used as a medicine. It can cause side effects such as stomach irritation, changes in mood, sleep problems, dizziness, spasms, skin disorders, sensitivity to the sun, and kidney and liver problems.

Do not use rue if:
  • You are pregnant or breast-feeding.
  • You have kidney problems.
  • You have liver problems.
  • You have stomach or intestinal problems.
  • You have urinary tract problems.
