Many diseases can adversely affect the visual field including glaucoma, strokes, high blood pressure (hypertension), diabetes, multiple sclerosis, overactivity of the thyroid gland (hyperthyroidism). Medications can also affect the visual field, some of which include the antimalarial medicines chloroquine (ATABRINE) and hydroxychloroquine (PLAQUENIL).
