Definition of Neuraminidase inhibitor
Neuraminidase inhibitor: A drug that inhibits the enzyme called neuraminidase.
For example, oseltamivir (Tamiflu), an antiinfluenza agent, acts by inhibiting the neuraminidase enzyme on the surface of the influenza virus. This prevents the virus from leaving the cell and spreading to others.Source: MedTerms™ Medical Dictionary
