Definition of Dysphagia
Dysphagia: Difficulty swallowing. Dysphagia is due to abnormal nerve or muscle control. It is common, for example, after a stroke. Dysphagia can compromise nutrition and hydration and may lead to aspiration pneumonia and dehydration.Source: MedTerms™ Medical Dictionary
