Who Is Affected by Hemorrhoids

Hemorrhoids are a very common problem. Equal numbers of men and women get hemorrhoids.

Hemorrhoids can happen at any age, but they are more common after age 30. About half of people older than age 50 have hemorrhoid symptoms.1

Many women develop hemorrhoids during the last 6 months of pregnancy and immediately postpartum.
