Burning or Pain With Urination (Dysuria) in ChildrenBurning or Pain With Urination (Dysuria) in ChildrenBurning or pain with urination (dysuria) is the most common symptom of a urinary tract problem. As bacteria grow in the bladder, the bladder wall becomes irritated. This causes pain when the bladder fills and empties. Dysuria can occur if the tube that carries urine from the bladder to the outside of the body (urethra) becomes irritated or infected. If your child is too young to talk, suspect dysuria if he or she cries each time he or she urinates. Credits
