LordosisLordosis is an excessive forward curvature of the spine, usually in the lower back, which causes a person to have a swayed back. Any abnormal curvature of the spine can cause back pain. Lordosis may be present at birth (congenital) or may be associated with an inherited trait. Other causes include slippage of a lower back bone (vertebra) and inflammation in the spinal discs. Lordosis usually does not require treatment unless it interferes with flexibility of the spine.
