Biological therapyBiological therapy uses materials produced by the body or manufactured in a lab to boost, direct, or restore your body's natural defenses against disease. Biological response modifier (BRM) therapy, or immunotherapy, is sometimes used to treat cancer. For example, trastuzumab (Herceptin) has been approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for the treatment of breast cancer in women who have completed menopause.
