Downward From Knees

Picture of a woman leaning downward from a kneeling position

Lowering yourself from hands-and-knees can help you calm and gather yourself. This position is used to ease the physical and emotional intensity of labor. It is also used to take pressure off of the back and may help shift a baby to a more favorable position. You may find it eases back labor.
