Medical Definition of Bronchiectasis
Bronchiectasis: Permanent abnormal widening of the bronchi (air tubes that branch deep into the lungs). Bronchiectasis can cause recurrent lung infections, a disabling cough, shortness of breath, and coughing up blood.Source: MedTerms™ Medical Dictionary
