Definition of Ornithine
Ornithine: An amino acid that is not found in protein but is important in the formation of urea and the disposal of excess nitrogen. Ornithine is produced when urea is split off from arginine and ornithine is itself converted into citrulline.Source: MedTerms™ Medical Dictionary
