Definition of Hormone, mineralocorticoid

Hormone, mineralocorticoid: A group of hormones, the most important being aldosterone, that regulates the balance of water and electrolytes (ions such as sodium and potassium) in the body. The mineralocorticoid hormones act specifically on the tubules of the kidney.
