Medical Definition of Pleuritis
Pleuritis: Inflammation of the pleura which may be caused by infection, injury or tumor. When the pleura becomes inflamed, it can produce more than the normal amount of fluid, causing a pleural effusion.Source: MedTerms™ Medical Dictionary
