Definition of 3 Day Diet

3 Day Diet: The 3 Day Diet is a weight loss plan designed to be followed for three days at a time, based upon the concept of mixing certain types of foods that supposedly lead to metabolic reactions in the body. The diet has a very regimented program that must be followed exactly, according to its proponents. The claims that the 3 day diet induces "metabolic reactions" in the body have not been proven, and it is likely that any weight loss from the diet is due simply to caloric restriction and/or water loss.

The 3 day diet has not been recommended by medical professionals as a weight loss plan and is not considered a healthy way to lose weight. Instead, it is considered to be an unhealthy, "fad" diet that may contribute to the cycle of weight loss and gain known as "yo-yo" dieting.
