JOHN P. CUNHA, DO, FACOEP



John P. Cunha, DO, is a U.S. board-certified Emergency Medicine Physician. Dr. Cunha's educational background includes a BS in Biology from Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey, and a DO from the Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences in Kansas City, MO. He completed residency training in Emergency Medicine at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center in Newark, New Jersey.

Dr. Cunha is currently an attending physician in the Emergency Department of Holy Cross Hospital in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. He also currently serves as a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Family Medicine at Nova Southeastern University College of Osteopathic Medicine, Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

Dr. Cunha serves on the Undergraduate Medical Education Committee of the American College of Osteopathic Emergency Physicians. He has served as Preceptor and Director of Medical Education for Emergency Medicine for NSU-COM Medical Students at Northwest Medical Center, Margate, Florida.

With an interest in medical education, Dr. Cunha has participated in a medical mission to Ecuador and works as a mentor to medical students through the American Osteopathic Association. His special interests in medicine include patient education and satisfaction, and sports medicine. He currently resides in Florida with his wonderful wife and their three dachshunds.
