I am a 50 year old female and I've suffered from canker sores all of my life. They became very frequent over the past two years to the point where there was rarely a time when my whole mouth wasn't broken out in sores. I noticed that I had a huge break out after I had eaten walnuts and almonds. I have always eaten peanut butter as well. I stopped eating nuts and have had almost no sores except for two small mild ones in the past two months. I recommend that if you are eating nuts including peanut butter or peanuts, give them up for a month and see how you do..

Debacterol works, but you have to be very careful with it. It is sulfuric acid and is incredibly painful. This is a last resort for me if I need a sore GONE quickly. What really works are Quantum Canker Covers, put on the sore at night (but put wax on your teeth because it will make your teeth very sensitive in that area). Also, Oral-B's canker sore mouthwash with hydrogen peroxide is wonderful. Use it several times a day and it really helps heal well. I have bigger, longer-lasting canker sores, so i've tried almost everything in the book. Drinking milk and eating yogurt helps, along with brushing teeth regularly. Good luck..
