I was diagnosed with prostate cancer on 10/20 after a biopsy was done. I had four members of my family who died from other forms of cancer, but none ever had prostate. I was told mine is aggressive. I am now being checked for spreading. No treatment has been described as of yet. I am still being tested. I am 66 years old..

I was diagnosed with prostate cancer 31/12/14 at the age of 52; Gleason score 3 plus 4 in 3 out of 12 core needle biopsies. My paternal uncle died of prostate cancer aged 74, and father had enlarged prostate. No symptoms, but I decided to take PSA test over a couple of years because of family history. It rose from 4 to 7.71 and I was called in by my general physician. I was referred to consultant urologist here in UK. I had DRE (digital rectal examination) and MRI, and nothing found. Biopsy was taken which showed cancer. I am on active surveillance with a view to robotic surgery..
