I have dislocated my left shoulder about nine times in the last two years including yesterday. The pain of course is excruciating. The first time it happened I didn't realize it was a dislocation. I just thought I had pain in my hands, but after about 30minutes I felt a pop in my shoulder. I went for an X-ray and have had the terrible experience like seven times since then.

I slipped while going down the (6 or 7) stairs to answer the door and dislocated my left shoulder. I felt immediate intense pain and had to sit at the bottom of the stairs for a few seconds before I felt like I could even get up. I thought the pain was so bad because I had broken my arm, but it wasn't. My arm was hanging down and twisted by my side and I couldn't move it without using my other hand. I used my right hand to see how much I could move it and it felt like a spring had sprung back into place and there was some relief of pain. I still had the most awful pain in my upper arm though and tried to keep it as still as possible for the next couple of hours.

At the age of 29 I my first grand mal seizure and dislocated my right shoulder. The pain was intense beyond description. Hospital reduced shoulder and pain was gone. Seizures are only after I fall asleep. I have dislocated both shoulders over 30 times. I'm 57 now, and the seizures are very rare now with no reason ever found. I dislocate shoulders now at any time from picking up a pencil to any movement. Related Reading: seizure

When my shoulder dislocated, I had extreme pain. I had never had pain like that before. My arm was useless and I thought I had broken it. I fell right on the top of the shoulder and heard a crunch. It is still very sore after 3 months.

I injured my left shoulder rotator cuff injury in January. I fell in my shower. I'm in physical therapy and the pulley exercises haven't helped. I am getting my arm to rise higher. I've got no feeling in my left hand. I've been immobilized for two months now. Related Reading: rotator cuff injury

Both my shoulders have spontaneously dislocated since I was in elementary school. I am now in my mid-50's. Both my hips spontaneously dislocate. I now have arthritis in my hips and my shoulders, as well as my spine and several other joints in my body. I personally believe the laxity of my tendons that allow these spontaneous dislocations may be genetically linked and also a contributing factor to the multiple arthritis locations, and multiple pain locations. My horse ran out at a jump which unbalanced me and frightened him so he galloped off sideways. I fell at speed with my right arm out holding on to the right rein. The pain was excruciating, morphine hardly touched it. It was put in place by the doctor, but I can hardly move it after five days, because it's still so painful.
