I had quite a large skin tag removed from my knee the doctor numbed the area then removed it with a scalpel. Instead of stitching it, he burned it and put a plaster over it.

I had the smaller skin tags frozen off. The larger ones were surgically removed. One did grow back and I have to get that one surgically removed again - it happens. Related Reading: skin tags

The best results were when a dermatologist removed the skin tags with a scalpel. When a "scissors" was used (by a different doctor) there was a bit of the skin tag left at the skin surface.

My doctor removed mine with liquid nitrogen and it never came back. I experienced redness for a few days and then they just fell off.
