I have had four epidurals and two nerve blocks plus laminectomy, all without any success whatever. I am in dreadful pain in left leg from buttocks to my toes. I am on anti-inflammatory medications and pain killers, nothing helps.

I experienced radiating severe pain down my leg with leg weakness. I used Naproxen with little relief. I did physical therapy and finally narcotic pain meds. This was not a long term option. I had steroidal injections in spine that gave moderate relief, but did not last. Finally, I had complete relief with surgery (laminectomy) followed by lots of PT. It was a four-month recuperation, but pain relief was worth it! Related Reading: Naproxen

I was diagnosed with lumbar stenosis a few weeks ago. I found it so frustrating with my primary care doctor. He diagnosed it as a pulled muscle and sent me home with muscle relaxers. The pain got so severe in my back, I could not get out of bed without screaming. I could not lower myself to use the bathroom. Finally I demanded an MRI of my back. That is when I went to a orthopedic pain specialist. He called it a severe condition and questioned the pain I was describing. I am doing physical therapy, using anti-inflamatory drugs, mild pain medication and muscle relaxers. Must Read Articles Related to Spinal Stenosis

Pain was so bad down both legs I could not walk without holding on to someone or something. One surgeon wanted to operate right away, and I wanted to try epidural first. I had two with little success. I was put on Cymbalta for a sleep disorder and was told that it might help my back. Within one week the leg pain was GONE and has not returned and it has been 8 months. Also, my sleep disorder is fixed! Love Cymbalta!!
