GENERIC NAME: TRAGACANTH (Astragalus gummifer) - ORAL

USES: Tragacanth has been used for constipation. Some herbal/diet supplement products have been found to contain possibly harmful impurities/additives. Check with your pharmacist for more details regarding the particular brand you use. The FDA has not reviewed this product for safety or effectiveness. Consult your doctor or pharmacist for more details.

HOW TO USE: Take this product by mouth as directed. Follow all directions on the product package. If you are uncertain about any of the information, consult your doctor or pharmacist. Drink plenty of water while using this product. Do not use this product for more than 7 days unless so directed by your doctor. Do not use this product if you have had bowel problems for longer than 2 weeks, or if there is blood in your stool. Consult your doctor or pharmacist. Long term use of laxatives may lead to laxative dependence, chronic constipation, loss of normal bowel function, and damage to the bowel. Overuse of laxatives may cause persistent intestinal problems. If your condition persists or worsens, or if you think you may have a serious medical problem, seek immediate medical attention.

SIDE EFFECTS: Nausea, stomach upset, bloating, gas or diarrhea may occur. If any of these effects persist or worsen, contact your doctor promptly. Tell your doctor immediately if you have any of these highly unlikely but very serious side effects: severe stomach pain, failure to have a bowel movement, trouble swallowing. Allergic reactions to this product are unlikely, but seek immediate medical attention if they occur. Symptoms of an allergic reaction include: rash, itching, swelling, dizziness, trouble breathing. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.
